Who can rent a vehicle?

Is there a minimum rental duration?
At Volvo Car Rent, vehicles can be rented for 30 days or longer. A shorter rental term is possible upon request.
Is there a minimum age for the rental of a Volvo via Volvo Car Rent?
Yes, you must be at least 19 years old and have had a driving licence for at least a year. With the Volvo XC90, the minimum age is 25 years.
Where can I collect the rental vehicle?
That is possible at one of around 50 stations in Switzerland or at your Volvo dealer. Alternatively, you can also have your rental vehicle delivered for a small fee.
Can the model be changed if required?
Yes, after a rental duration of 30 days, you can change your current Volvo at any time for another Volvo.
What is included in the monthly rental price?
The monthly rental price includes the rental price of the desired model, the traffic tax, the motorway vignette, the tyres appropriate to the season, theft protection and liability reduction in the event of a claim with a deductible, the passenger accident insurance, a free-of-charge additional driver, the young driver fee for drivers under the age of 25, 5000 km allowance and the VAT.
How are the monthly rates paid?
The monthly invoicing or final invoicing in the event of early return after 30 days is done by credit card.
Can somebody else than me drive the leased vehicle?
Yes, you can register a second driver free of charge. This person must be registered at the station and provide proof of his/her identity.
Can a third party pay my rental if I do not have any credit card of my own?
Yes, however, the credit card holder must be present on collection. With the Volvo XC90, this regulation does not apply, and the driver must also be the holder of the credit card.
